Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal Project walks

21 August 2010 to 21 August 2010

Communities and visitors are being invited to take part in a series of walks, which will showcase the hidden heritage gems clustered throughout the World Heritage Site Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Llangollen Canal corridor.

The walks aim to make communities and visitors aware of the rich heritage and environmental value of the site. They will take in Froncysyllte and Trevor – important cogs in the industrial revolution which spawned this unique location.

The walks will be led by local experts, bringing the history and heritage surrounding Thomas Telford’s towering achievement to life.

Each walk is around two to three miles in length, taking up to three hours at a leisurely pace, allowing participants to take in the surrounding environment.

Participants should wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear.
