Families
There are events and activities are held regularly at the Standedge Tunnel. Check our events section or the Standedge Tunnel Website.
What about schools and groups?
Schools and groups are always welcome at Standedge Tunnel and there are discovery boxes aimed at 7-11 year olds available for free use (when used in combination with a boat trip) at the centre in a designated education area. During the winter the boxes can be hired by the week to use in school. Boxes cover the following themes and are National Curriculum linked:
- Habitats
- Building Structures
- Water
- Local Geography and history
There are special group rates for the boat trip and look out for the exciting school’s weeks where led activities are provided.
