Hawthorns Junior School's canal project
Young investigators explore Eanam Wharf
Throughout the spring term Hawthorn Junior School in Blackburn worked on a project on canals. They looked at why the canal came to Blackburn and what life was like on the canal 200years ago. As part of their topic work they invited the WOW team into school to help them discover how canals were built. They followed this up by joining the WOW team at Eanam Wharf to explore the clues to the past. Both teachers and pupils were surprised at how much there was to discover and learnt a lot about their locality on their outing.
