Families
This is a great place for families to visit with plenty of walking, large open grassy spaces as well as the canal there is plenty to see. A pleasant walk will take you to Whaley Bridge where there is a transhipment warehouse as well as shops in the village.
What about schools and groups?
For schools this provides a good location for studying local history/ geography, looking after our world and waterways and how they were used. It would also make a super location for sketching. There are plenty of open spaces for gathering a class around. The WOW trail around the upper basin provides a good starting point to get the children discussing what they can see.
