Dallas Primary helps WOW

New Fact File for the Lancaster Canal written by local school children

Dallas Primary School in Lancaster have had an exciting half term studying the Lancaster Canal. However they were not content to stay in the classroom reading books written for adults. The went out on the towpath to do their own research and invited the Lancaster Canal Trust and British Waterways to talk to them about the history and roles in looking after the canal. On realizing that there was no material written for about the Lancaster Canal for children, and having enjoyed their trips out so much, they worked with Katie from the WOW team to write a Fact File about the canal. They researched, took photos and picked out illustrations to complement their writing. Katie then went away to put it all together and they should be getting their copies in the next few days. The Lancaster Canal Fact File will be available on the WOW website in the next week.
